Faversham Raft Race

Where? Faversham Creek.
When? 9th August 2009, 2:30pm

The Aim

Aim

Through its activities, the Faversham Raft Race is dedicated indirectly to extending and nurturing support to good causes from the people of Faversham and surrounding local areas.  This is done in order to further the activities of Charity and the Voluntary Sector and the consequent benefits associated with such in the local and wider community.

It is achieved by coordinating a major public event on the Faversham Creek and participating in a host of direct and indirectly related activities in the Town which promote the Race.

Although over the years the good cause changed regularly, since 2005, the Raft Race Committee has nominated The Scrine Foundation (www.scrine.org) as the charity to benefit from all the hard work.

This will be reviewed again during the September committee meeting. If youwould like to nominate a charity to benefit from the Raft Race, please do so, by clicking 'Contact Us'

Funding

The Faversham Raft Race Committee exists to recruit volunteers to assist with the Raft Race and in doing so, raise funds to support charitable activities within the town.

The Faversham Raft Race does not receive any outside funding and relies solely on fund-raising activities, charity and the benevolence of the Faversham Townsfolk.
